• Welcome to The Cave of Dragonflies forums, where the smallest bugs live alongside the strongest dragons.

Guests are not able to post messages or even read certain areas of the forums. Now, that's boring, don't you think? Registration, on the other hand, is simple, completely free of charge, and does not require you to give out any personal information at all. As soon as you register, you can take part in some of the happy fun things at the forums such as posting messages, voting in polls, sending private messages to people and being told that this is where we drink tea and eat cod.

Of course I'm not forcing you to do anything if you don't want to, but seriously, what have you got to lose? Five seconds of your life?

Sadly, pills have health effects. It's fine if you don't have any of the major risks, but many people do. There are no real excuses for failing to use a condom, though.

No one is saying that the father's input would override the mother's. This seems to be how you're parsing this, however.

Why the hell are you assuming that simply because it often is a bad idea that it'd always be a bad idea? People have difficulty grasping the amount of time, energy, money, and effort that's required to raise a child. What the fuck is the problem with helping people who're trying to do all...

Someone is not stupid because they have moral objections to doing particular things to their bodies.

People can get pregnant while using condoms. It helps, but it's not a sure thing. Doesn't help that many people have health issues that make birth control pills a bad idea.

But they didn't necessarily bring it upon themselves. Contraception does not always work. Also, sex education is frequently inadequate. And why do you want a baby brought into the world if it's unwanted? While some children are adopted, plenty more are not, and wouldn't it be better to not...

    Abortion

Yes, because our level of technology is such that even when people normally would have died, they are not necessarily going to do so. I see no reason that one should wish months of pain and other problems on someone for the sake of a potential baby. Why should someone care more about the life...

Yes, but you don't see anyone fighting for the rights of bacteria and trying to ban antibacterial soap.

Was I necessarily speaking of fetuses? No. Brain activity doesn't start until the second trimester iirc; some other organ activity starts around that time as well. I don't even begin to consider it as a life until it can start doing something on its own besides have its cells divide.

    Abortion

No. Read it anyway. If you have time to post, you have time to make yourself not look like a moron. Clumps of cells count as bodies now?

And that fixes everything? Condoms do not always work.

it is mocking you, chronamew condoms do not always work. birth control pills are not able to be used by everyone. many people have shitty sex-ed.

So you want them to be miserable for nine months until they get to have a day filled with a hell of a lot of pain and then they get rid of it? What? and then of course the child is quite possibly going to rot in foster care for eighteen years until they're out on their own without much in the...
